Erin Hamlin

Erin Mullady Hamlin ( born November 19, 1986 in New Hartford, New York) is an American luger.

Erin Hamlin was 2004 and 2005 U.S. Junior National Champion. In 2005, she appeared in Park City for the first time at a luge World Cup and finished in 15 place. At the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin Hamlin finished in twelfth place. Since the season 2005/ 06 she takes in the Luge World Cup. Your best result it reached in fifth place finisher in Lake Placid in 2005, Park City, 2006. The same rank they reached again the following season in Lake Placid. In the Challenge Cup they could penetrate the end of 2006 at a race in Park City to the final, where they only Sylke Otto had to admit defeat. At the 2007 World Championships she finished fifth place in the individual and the team to fourth place.

On February 6, 2009 Hamlin won at the FIL World Luge Championships 2009 in Lake Placid, single ladies, before Geisenberger and Natalia Yakushenko, sensational gold medal. It was the first victory of a non-German luger after 99 consecutive victories in the World Cup and at major international events. In the following season, Hamlin became the toughest competitor of the German athletes but without reaching the performance Tatjana Huefner or Geisen Bergers. Overall, they achieved this season three times and finished in third place in the World Cup overall standings 4th place. These benefits, however, could not be confirmed in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. They could not cope with the changed conditions of the shortened track and finished only 16th place.
