Erin Mielzynski

Erin Mielzynski (born 25 May 1990 in Brampton, Ontario ) is a Canadian alpine skier and former water ski runner. Your strongest discipline in Alpine skiing is the slalom.

Biography

As a teenager, Erin Mielzynski was, like her older sister Jenna, a successful water ski runner. She won several titles at the Canadian Championships in 2006 and the silver medal in show jumping at the U17 World Cup.

In alpine skiing Mielzynski denied their first FIS race in December 2005. Since the season 2006/ 07 they start in Nor -Am Cup. The best result was their first winter was the 14th place in the Super -G of Panorama on 11 December. In the 2007 /08 season, she already went five times in the top ten and reached second place in the Super Combined at Whiteface Mountain and finished third in the slalom at Craigleith their first podium finishes. So that it reached the second place in the Super Combination Classification, seventh place in the slalom standings and eighth overall. So she also inclusion in the team of the Canadian Ski Association. Since then, she participated in no more water skiing competitions and now focuses exclusively on alpine skiing.

In the 2008 /09 season, Canada's continued again five times into the top ten, but this time scored no podiums. In March, she participated in the Junior World Championships 2009 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, where they can accommodate 43 in the giant slalom and 44th in the Super G could classify only in the back of the fleet itself. On November 29, 2009 in Aspen Mielzynski took part in a World Cup race for the first time. In this slalom she brought with rank 30 her first World Cup point. At the Junior World Cha shaft 2010 in the region of Mont Blanc, she was seventh in the slalom. The 2009/10 season of the Nor -Am Cup, she finished with two podium finishes in second place in the slalom standings and eighth place in the overall standings.

In the World Cup Mielzynski scored in the 2010/11 season with 13th place in the slalom in Zwiesel her first top 15 result. At the World Championships 2011 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen she reached the 16th place, which they drove the best time of all started in the second pass in the slalom. In the Nor -Am Cup you reach the end of the 2010/11 season, the first victories. Mielzynski has established itself near the top of world in the course of the World Cup season 2011/12. On 4 March 2012, she surprisingly won the slalom in Ofterschwang. This makes it the first Canadian World Cup slalom champion since 21 January 1971, when Betsy Clifford won the gold key races in Schruns.

On December 1, 2013 Mielzynski scored for the first time in a World Cup giant slalom, as they drove in Beaver Creek on the 16th Place.
