The Erindi Private Game Reserve (English Erindi Private Game Reserve ) with 70 719 hectares one of the largest private game reserves in Africa. It is located about 150 kilometers north of the Namibian capital Windhoek.

Genesis

The Wildlife Reserve Erindi evolved from over charged farmland. The current owner Gert Joubert took over and after numerous farms in the area, removed fences and founded Erindi as a wildlife sanctuary in 2007.

Infrastructure

For overnight guests, the Wildlife Reserve is accessible. There are guided tours of the program. Overnight accommodations are available in a luxurious lodge, at a campsite, and self catering accommodation in.

Wildlife

Erindi has one of the largest populations of wild animals of various species in Namibia. According to information from more than 10,000 large animals are native to the area. In addition to the African elephant are this black rhino, giraffe, wild dog, hippo, lion, Nile crocodile and more than 20 different species of antelope.

For several years the owner of Erindi tries to get another 200 elephants by the Namibian Ministry of Environment and Tourism. This is a controversial issue before the Namibian courts. In July 2013 Erindi was awarded the contract for the relocation of 100 elephants from the Khaudum National Park.
