Erja Lyytinen

Erja Lyytinen (born 1976 in Kuopio ) is a Finnish blues guitarist and singer who also writes his own songs and produced their recordings. She is often compared to Bonnie Raitt, especially since both slide guitar playing. Lyytinens music mixes blues with elements of jazz, pop, R & B and Country.

Life and career

As a teenager, Erja Lyytinen appeared with her ​​parents. She sang and played first violin, but opted for the electric guitar. She took lessons in the Pop and Jazz Conservatory and studied jazz at the Sibelius Academy, both in Helsinki.

Lyytinen 2002, with the band Dave 's Special Album Attention! on. In 2003 they released their first album Wildflower. When Finnish Puistoblues Festival the same year she was with Koko Taylor and Bonnie Raitt on the program. With her husband, the guitarist Davide Floreno, she played the 2005 album It's a Blessing one. With Ian Parker and Aynsley Lister for the German blues label Ruf Records, they recorded the album Pilgrimage - to Mississippi to Memphis. This was followed by tours in the U.S. and Europe, with the live DVD Blues Caravan 2006 - The New Generation was born. The song Dreamland Blues was selected by Sue Foley for their compilation Blues Guitar Women. Since then, she regularly publishes new albums at Ruf Records.

Lyytinen is the rhythm guitarist of her band, Davide Floreno married. The couple are parents of twin sons (* 2014).
