Erlach (Hirschaid)

Erlach is a district of Hirschaid in the Upper Franconian district of Bamberg and lies about 12 km south of Bamberg at the Regnitz and the River Main -Danube Canal. The village has about 440 inhabitants.

History

Erlach was called " Sconen erlaha " was first mentioned in 1062 ( The beautiful Erlach ) documented. The monastery had Schlüsselau there stretched tithe. Ecclesiastical belonged to the parish of Erlach initially Butt home, was then separated by treaty in 1654 and assigned to the former parish Röbersdorf.
