Ermanno Pignatti

Ermanno Pignatti ( born August 8, 1921 in Modena, † 31 October 1995) was an Italian weightlifter.

Career

Ermanno Pignatti was a police officer and began with " Sportiva " Modena with the weight lifting. Later he moved to Milan and became a member of the sports club " Fiamme d' Oro ". His coach was there Primo Ferrari. Ermanno was a late starter. His first success as a weightlifter only presented themselves from the age of 30. But he was very successful and won, as the highlight of his career, 1956 in Melbourne, an Olympic bronze medal in the middleweight division after he had already become 1951 European champion at lightweight.
