Ermenegildo Florit

Ermenegildo Cardinal Florite ( born July 5, 1901 in Fagagna, Italy, † December 8, 1985 in Florence) was Archbishop of Florence.

Life

Ermenegildo Florite received his theological and philosophical training in Udine and Rome. He received on 11 April 1925, the sacrament of Holy Orders and, after completion of ongoing studies from 1927 to 1929 as a parish pastor in the Archdiocese of Udine. From 1929 to 1954 he was a lecturer at the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome, which he presided as dean from 1951 to 1954. In addition to his teaching activities, he participated in various communities of Rome true pastoral tasks. In 1951 he received the appointment as canon of St. Mark's Basilica and the honorary title of Pontifical domestic prelates.
