Geography

Geographical location

The nucleus of the community Erndtebrück is located in the southern part of the Rothaargebirge at the confluence of Benfe in coming from the southwest upper reaches of the Eder. To the south rises the Ebschloh ( 686.3 m above sea level. NN ) is the highest mountain in the municipality. Climate

History

Erndtebrück was first mentioned in 1256. First, the place was known as Ermin Gardi Brugge and seat of a knightly family, and later customs office market law.

In 1502 called Irmgardtenbrucken the village. Not until 1819 was called the village Erndtebrück. Today's official spelling of the name is in 1732 appeared for the first time, but could only push through the mid-19th century. Religions
