Ernest E. Rogers

Ernest Elias Rogers ( * December 6, 1866; † January 28, 1945 ) was an American politician. Between 1929 and 1931 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Connecticut.

Career

Neither the birth nor the death place of Ernest Rogers have survived. There is no information about his youth and schooling, as well as his career beyond politics. He lived in New London. Politically, he joined the Republican Party. In 1917 he was mayor of New London; In 1920 he was elected to the House of Representatives from Connecticut. Between 1925 and 1929 he held the position of Connecticut State Treasurer. In June 1928 he was a delegate attended the Republican National Convention in Kansas City, was nominated on the Herbert Hoover as a presidential candidate.

That same year, Rogers was elected to the side of John H. Trumbull for Lieutenant Governor of Connecticut. This post he held 1929-1931. Yet he was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. After the end of his term as Lieutenant Governor Ernest Rogers is no longer politically have appeared. He died on 28 January 1945.
