Ernest Sosa

Ernest Sosa ( born June 17, 1940) is one of the most influential contemporary philosophers who work on issues of epistemology.

Sosa has taught since January 2007 Philosophy at Rutgers University. Previously, he was at Brown University and a visiting lecturer at Rutgers in the years 1998-2006 in 1964. He earned his BA and MA at the University of Miami, his PhD in Pittsburgh. When he came to Brown University after, he was particularly influenced by Roderick Chisholm. His son, David Sosa, is currently associate professor in Texas, Austin. Ernest Sosa is President of the American Philosophical Association and editor of the journals Nous, Philosophy and Phenomenological Research.
