Ernest Thompson Seton

Ernest Thompson Seton ( born August 14, 1860 in South Shields, County Durham today in Tyne and Wear, Scotland, † October 23, 1946 in Seton Village, New Mexico) was a well known author and co-founder of the U.S. Scouting.

During his life, Seton used variations of his name as a pseudonym and as an everyday name. That was not uncommon in the United States this decade. Among them were Ernest Evan Thompson and Ernest Seton Thompson.

Life

Seton was one of the first writers of nature stories in which animals usually played the lead roles.
