Ernst Eiselen

Ernst Wilhelm Bernhard panis ( born September 27, 1793 in Berlin, † August 22 1846 in Międzyzdroje ) was a representative of the gymnastic movement.

Life

Panis was the brother of Johann Friedrich Gottfried panis and attended high school in Berlin to the Grey Abbey. His poor health prevented him to devote himself to his request under the mountain trade, and forced him in the spring of 1813 to withdraw from his attempt to serve in the army.

He took it at the behest of his teacher Friedrich Ludwig Jahn, the direction of the young Berlin sports field. When in 1819 the turn places were closed, he was a teacher in history, geography and mathematics educate and taught in the Plamann Institute. He then set up in 1825 a turn Institute in Berlin, emerged from many of the students.

Panis was co-editor of the German Gymnastics Art ( with FL Jahn, Berlin, 1816;. Footprint in new Jahns works, edited by Carl Euler, Part 2), as well as gymnastics and fencing instructor in the time of the general turn lock. He also established in 1832 the first girl Turn institution.

The German fencing terminology was introduced by panis. Panis died on 22 August 1846 in Międzyzdroje on Wollin.
