Ernst Gerlach

Ernst Gerlach ( born March 19, 1947 in Beautiful Beck) is a former German handball player. Its common position was back center of the room.

He played in the DDR - Oberliga for the SC Magdeburg and won with the club in 1970, 1977, 1980, 1981 and 1982, five league titles. He also claimed to Magdeburg 1978 and 1981 the European Champions Cup and 1981 European Championship for club teams. It was not until 30 years debuted the playmaker of Magdeburg in East Germany national team. He was third at the 1978 World Cup and 1980 at the Olympic Games in Moscow Olympic champion. Overall, he threw 35 goals in 47 internationals.

Gerlach in 1980 was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver.
