Ernst Klodwig

Ernst Klodwig (* May 23, 1903 in Aschersleben, † 15 April 1973 in Hamburg ) was a German racing driver.

Ernst Klodwig counted in the early 1950s alongside Paul Greifzu, Rudolf Krause and Edgar Barth to the best racers of the GDR. With its BMW DIY he came to national races regularly in the top three. 1952 and 1953 he participated in his self-built BMW at the Grand Prix of Germany at the Nürburgring. He was by Harry Schell for the second driver who has competed in a round of the automotive world championship with a race car with mid-engine. In both Formula 2 race he won places in midfield.
