Ernst Ludwig Taschenberg

Ernst Ludwig pocket Berg ( born January 10, 1818 in Naumburg ( Saale), † January 19, 1898 in Halle) was a German entomologist.

Life

Taschenberg studied since 1837 in Leipzig and Berlin, mathematics and science, then went as an assistant teacher at the Francke Foundations in Halle and devoted himself to the ordering of significant beetle collection of Professor Ernst Friedrich Germar and in dealing with the insect collection of the Zoological Museum specifically entomology.

He then acted as a teacher for two years in Seesen, and five years in Tusker and followed in 1856 an appointment as inspector at the Zoological Museum in Halle, 1871, he was appointed associate professor. Berg's pocket activities culminated in exploring the practical meaning of the insect world for agriculture, horticulture and silviculture.
