Ernst Müller

Ernst Müller (* July 13, 1901, † unknown ) was a German football player.

Ernst Müller began his career at forward 90 Berlin, where he started as a runner left. In 1926 he moved to Hertha BSC, who had just lost the final of the German Cup against SpVgg Fürth. In the following three years Hertha lost with Ernst Müller as center half for another three finals for the German championship. Not until 1930 that won the Berlin their first league titles when they decided the final match against Holstein Kiel 5-4 for itself. Also in the second and last title win in Berlin in 1931 against TSV 1860 Munich Muller organized the defense of Hertha.

Three weeks before the final 1931 Ernst Müller came to his only use in the German national team. Besides Georg Knöpfle and Reinhold Berg coins he played on his former master position as left runners. The international match on May 24, 1931 in Berlin went down in football history, but in the Austrian. A week earlier, Austria had won against Scotland 5-0, now the miracle team defeated the German team 6-0. Ernst Müller had in a weak German team against the outstanding Friedrich Gschweidl no chance and never again received a call-up.
