Ernst Öbster

Ernst Öbster (born 17 March 1984) is an Austrian football player at the position of midfielder. He currently plays at LASK Linz in the Ditten Leistungsstife, the Regional center.

Career

Öbster started at SK Bischofshofen in youth. After being admitted to BNZ Salzburg, he was brought into the first team of the SV Austria Salzburg in 2001 and was the age of seventeen his debut in the Bundesliga. After two years in Salzburg, he spent a year on loan in the First League for LASK Linz. In 2004 he returned and was able to prevent with the Austrian descent. After the takeover of the club by Dietrich Mateschitz and his company Red Bull Öbster played in the first season, seven games.

In the summer of 2006, he was discharged to the Red Bull Juniors, where he rose in the First League on 15 missions for the amateur team. Internationally, he played eleven times for the Austrian U21 squad. He took part in the U-19 European Football Championships 2003 and came up with the Austrian selection to the semifinals. In the 2008 /09 season Öbster was early in the season to the permanent staff, in the course of the season he was then very seldom used and was in the end only five appearances. In summer 2009, he joined the New York Red Bulls, where he dissolved his contract again in March 2010. For the 2010/11 season he signed for Bundesliga team FC Wacker Innsbruck, but moved only a year later for family reasons back to Salzburg SV Grödig. In the summer of 2013 Öbster switched back to the Linzer ASK with the club advance to the second league.
