Ero aphana is a spider from the family of spiders eaters. She is one of four species of the genus, occurring in Central Europe.
Description
Ero aphana is a small spider, which reached only a height of 3 to 4 mm. On the spherical abdomen ( opisthosoma ) to find four distinctive hump. The ground color of the abdomen is light gray to light beige. On it are irregular darker patches. The cephalothorax ( prosoma ) is very bright with a fuzzy black border, a stain in the middle and other drawings in the eye area. The legs are striped light and dark.
Distribution, habitat and way of life
Ero aphana occurs throughout the Palearctic region, particularly in heat areas. She lives mainly in coniferous forests and also on the edge of shrubs.
Like all species of spider eater also Ero aphana feeds exclusively on other spiders. Adult animals can be found in the summer.
