Erol Sabanov

Erol Sabanov ( born May 16, 1974 in Aalen ) is a German footballer who plays in the position of goalkeeper.

Career

In youth, the Bulgarian-born Sabanov played in his hometown of VfR Aalen. In 1999 he became the first team in the Regionalliga Süd. In 2002 he moved within the League 1 FC Saarbrücken. With the FCS he made in the 2003/04 season promotion to the second division. Was Sabanov in the first year yet been first-choice goalkeeper in the Saarland, he lost in the rise year in the second round his place. The following year, he played in the higher league still on the first two matchdays his first professional games, but did not thereafter beyond the reserve player. After riots in the Saarbrücken team Sabanov had to go on 15 November 2004.

From January 2005 until the end of season 2006, he was employed by the SSV Jahn Regensburg in the Regionalliga Süd, where he was the Regensburg fans crowd favorite because of its close to the public. After the descent of the SSV in the Bavarian League, the contract was not renewed with Sabanov.

On 7 July 2006 he signed a contract with the SSV Reutlingen 05, where, however, he could not repress Marco Langner as goalkeeper.

For family reasons, he moved to season 2007/ 08 1 FC Heidenheim to around 20 km from his birthplace remote Aalen Heidenheim an der Brenz. There he took over in 2008 the role of the team captain. In the 2007 /08 season he qualified with the FCH after the Reform League for the new fourth-rate Regionalliga Süd and completed it all 34 season games. In the following season was the team in this league champion and promotion to the third division. In his second year as a pro, he missed some games among other things because of a thumb fracture, but was associated with 20 inserts is still the number one in goal, which he stayed on in the year. In the 2011/12 season of the now 37 -year-old but was replaced by the former number two Frank Lehmann and he moved into second place by two games in which he represented the rotgesperrten young goalkeeper. In February 2012, he extended his contract by one year.
