Eros Poli

Eros Poli ( born August 6, 1963 in Isola della Scala ) is a former Italian cyclist, an Olympic champion and world champion.

His greatest successes achieved Eros Poli, nicknamed " Beau Eros ", as an amateur. In 1984 he won at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles gold medal in the team time trial, together with Marcello Bartalini, Marco Giovannetti and Claudio Vandelli. In 1985 he was third in the Italian road Amateur Championship. In the same year the Italian road quad finished with Poli, Bartalini, Vandelli and Massimo Podenzana third place at the Road World Championships in Giavera del Montello. 1986, in Colorado Springs, the Italian team was vice-champion in the same discipline, with Poli, Podenzana, Mario Scirea and Flavio Vanzella. 1987 in Villach won the Italian quartet the world title ( with Roberto Fortunato instead Podenzana ).
