Erwan Bergot

Erwan Bergot ( born January 27, 1930 in Bordeaux, Gironde, † May 1, 1993 in Paris) was a French officer and writer.

Life

Bergot was of Breton descent. His school, he graduated from a Jesuit college and then immediately joined the army. He served in the 11th régiment parachutiste de choc (Algeria) and was transferred to the battalion 6e de parachutistes coloniaux ( Indochina ) later.

Bergot was taken by the Việt Minh gerfangen, but managed to escape injured. Under command of Marcel Bigeard Bergot fought among others at the Battle of Dien Bien Phu.

In 1962, back in France, he was entrusted with the management Bergot a magazine for the French army. During this time he also began to write for this magazine. In addition, he also tried his hand at larger works and was able to successfully debut as a writer in 1964 with Deuxieme classe à Dien Bien Phu.

On 1 May 1993 Erwan Bergot died at age 63 in Paris and found his final resting place.
