Erwin Conradi

Erwin Conradi ( born February 12, 1935 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German manager. He was the head of Metro AG.

Life

Conradi studied industrial engineering, worked from 1959 at IBM and from 1971 in the Metro Group.

From 1996 to 2000 he held the Chairmanship after the Kaufhof Holding AG, the German SB-Kauf AG, had merged the ASKO German Kaufhaus AG and the Cash & Carry section of the new METRO AG. The Supervisory Board he had in 2000 - after losing a power struggle with the board - leave. In the fall of 2004, he was dismissed from Otto Beisheim, the founder of the Metro Group, from all functions. The reasons are not known.

On January 23, 1999 him the Faculty of Philosophy, Economic and Social Sciences at the Technical University of Braunschweig awarded an honorary doctorate. In 2002 he received the German Commercial Award in the category Lifetime Award.

Together with the late 2010 Dieter Bock was Conradi partner of Octavian Hotel Holding GmbH (part of Octavian King Holdings in Rotterdam), the number of Kempinski Hotels in Germany ( including the Hotel Bristol in Berlin) belong.
