Erwin Janchen
Emil Erwin Alfred Ritter von Janchen -Michel ( born May 15, 1882 in Vöcklabruck; † July 10, 1970 in Vienna ) was an Austrian botanist. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " Janch. ".
Life and work
He earned his doctorate in 1923 at the University of Vienna. Scientifically, he was active in the Botanical Institute of the University. He made several research trips. Among the plants first described by Janchen is also based in Austria wild form of Rübsens (Brassica rapa subsp. Silvestris, co-author here is Gustav Wendelberger ).
