Erwin Kremers

Erwin Kremers (born 24 March 1949 in Mönchengladbach ) is a former German football player.

Career

Kremer played as a striker 1967-1979 261 times (61 goals) in the Bundesliga for Borussia Moenchengladbach, Kickers Offenbach and FC Schalke 04 His greatest achievement was winning the DFB Cup in 1970 with Offenbach and 1972 with Schalke. Permanent companion was his twin brother Helmut, who accompanied him on all his stops as a football player. They were the first pair of twins in the Bundesliga.

He was with the German national soccer team in Belgium European Football Championship in 1972. Overall, Kremers denied 1972-1974 15 caps for Germany, scoring three goals. Together, the twin brothers were three times for the national team: 1973 in Hanover against Austria (4:0 ), and in Gelsenkirchen against France and 1974 against Hungary in a 5-0 win in Dortmund.

After the career

After the career end Kremers retired from football and was managing director of a children's clothing company in Gelsenkirchen. Meanwhile, he is a private person and directs the Schalke golf circuit for social purposes. In June 2009, he aspired to a post on the board of Schalke 04, but received enough votes. Kremers now lives in Haan.

Remarkable

His participation in the 1974 World Cup, when Germany became world champion, failed due to a sending-off in the last league match before the World Cup because of a spontaneous referee insult. Kremers called the referee in the 85th minute after a clear, but not given foul as "stupid bitch ," the arbitrator Max Klauser ignored twice. Only when Kremers "Once for Dork: You are a stupid bitch ," said the referee had no choice but to expel him the place. Also, the DFB was then no choice but not to nomieren him to the World Cup.

In 1973, Kremers in a readers' poll and a Bronze Bravo Otto in the youth magazine BRAVO. Together with his twin brother Helmut he reached in 1974 as " The Kremers " entitled The girl of my dreams 44th place in the German charts.

Kremers was with his goal to 0:1 on 2 April 1976, the first scorer in a game of first Bundesliga in the Dortmund Westphalia station. However, against VfL Bochum, the game fought out in Dortmund for the new building of the Ruhr stadium.
