Erythema toxicum neonatorum

As Neugeborenenexanthem (synonym erythema neonatorum toxicum or only erythema neonatorum ) is called a completely harmless and transient rash, which occurs in about half of all newborns in the first days of life. It consists of pinhead-sized, filled with a clear liquid bubbles with a different sized red halo. In the vesicles are numerous eosinophils, a type of white blood cells. The cause hormonal changes is blamed with deprivation of the pregnancy hormone. As the skin appearance subside within a few days of alone again, except for the calming of anxious parents no specific treatment measures are necessary.
