ES Uzès Pont du Gard

The Entente Sportive Uzès Pont du Gard or short ES Uzes PG or ESUPG is a French football club, which is headquartered in the southern French town of Uzes, but at the same time in several neighboring communities ( Arpaillargues- et- Aureillac Fournès, Remoulins, Saint- Siffret, Vers- Pont -du -Gard ) is anchored in the vicinity of the Pont du Gard, where its youth teams deliver their home games and the Ligaelf received part of their training.

History and previous clubs

The result is the ESUPG until 2005 due to the merger of two local clubs, namely, founded in 1907 Gallia Club d' Uzes and the Pont du Gard Entente Sportive, which had itself emerged from the merger of several associations of the aforementioned towns. The Gallia Club had played until the mid-1960s, even in the then fourth highest league longer in the Division d'Honneur, the highest regional amateur class, and in the 1980s for three seasons. He then joined again only in regional leagues.

The club colors of ESUPG are red and black. The League team carries out their home games at the Stade Louis Pautex of Uzès, which has a capacity of 1,200 spectators; she is currently coached by Christian Lariepe. (November 2013)

League membership and achievements

Professional status of the IT Uzès not yet possessed. Two years after the merger, the first men's team went up to the first time; it was followed by three more ascents, the last in summer 2012 from the Championnat de France amateur ( CFA) in the semi-professional third division. This was followed in 2013, the direct re- descent, but was invalid for several other clubs due to Lizenzentzügen.

In the French Cup competition, however, so far neither the Entente Sportive Uzès Pont du Gard nor its predecessor clubs have ever reached the national main round. In the host the 2011/12 ESUPG is only narrowly missed it, to boldly go when she was defeated in the qualifying for the Zweiunddreißigstelfinale 8th round at FC Montceau 0:1.
