Esa Peltonen

Esa Peltonen (* February 25, 1947 in Oulu ) is a retired Finnish professional ice hockey player.

Career

Peltonen participated in a total of 488 games of the SM - liiga in part, he scored 317 goals and achieved 527 points. He played in Oulu Kärpät ( 1965-66 ), Upon Pallo ( 1966-69 ), HJK Helsinki ( 1969-72 ), HIFK Helsinki ( 1972-83 ). Twice he won with his team the Finnish Championship, here he stood in 39 playoff games on the ice and scored 35 points. Due to these achievements he was appointed four times in the Finnish All- Star team.

Internationally, he was at 277 (93 Tore/142 points) caps as a member of the Finnish National Hockey Team. With her he participated in four Olympic Games (1968, 1972, 1976 and 1980 ) and eleven hockey world championships ( 1967-1978 ).

In 1990, he was inducted into the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame and in 2007 into the IIHF Hall of Fame.
