Geography

Eschenlohe is located on the Loisach the west of the Ester Mountains. West of the town is the Murnau Moor.

History

Originally a castle of the Counts of Eschenlohe (castle Eschenlohe ), the place belonged since 1332 to the secularization in 1803 to the court Murnau Corporal formerly rich immediate Ettal monastery, which later belonged in turn to the Electorate of Bavaria.
