Eschershausen

Eschershausen is a small town in the northern part of the wood Minden in Lower Saxony, Germany and a member municipality of the velvet municipality Eschershausen City Oldendorf. After the locally born writer Wilhelm Raabe it is also called Raabe city.

Geography

Location

The up to 480 m high forested low mountain ranges Ith, Vogler, Hils, Homburg forest and surrounded Elfas Eschershausen, which is thus in the midst of the Weser Uplands. The convenient location is derived from the fish-rich river Lenne and abundant drinking water sources Mr. Born and Wehnborn.

History

Middle Ages

The town was at the crossroads of ancient Hellwege Cologne / Hoexter - Brunswick and Hameln- Einbeck. According to the older research, the first recorded mention 870-880 took place in the fake Corvey between Registrum Sarachonis. The first certain mention is from 1054 as " Ascgereshuson "; the place was in Wikanafeld. Modern Times

1806 was the Principality of Brunswick- Wolfenbüttel with the end of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation under with. Incorporations

Origin of the name

Old names of the place are 1015 Assiereshusun, 1054 Ascgereshuson, 1062 Aschereshusen, 1133-1137 Eschereshusen, 1141 Eschereshusen and 1146 Escher Husen. The root word is " - husen ".
