The Escuela de Periodismo Carlos Septien Garcia ( EPCSG ) was the first Mexican educational institution of Mass Communication, originally founded on 30 May 1949 and was accepted on July 2, 1976 as a university from the Secretaría de Educación Pública.

Founded as the School of Luis Beltrán y Mendoza with the support of Acción Católica Mexicana. During the directorship of Avilés is the School of the Acción Católica Mexicana and the political, ideological, and political trends associated within the meaning of academic freedom solved. was named the school after the second principal.

The study at the EPCSG to recognized degree takes regular eight semesters and includes theoretical and practical training of the areas of press, radio, television and internet journalism.
