Esfir Shub

Esfir Ilyinichna thrust (Russian Эсфирь Ильинична Шуб ), also known as Esther thrust (born 4 Märzjul / March 16 1894greg in Surasch, .. † September 21, 1959 in Moscow) was a Soviet film director and is considered a pioneer of the compilation film.

Recognition she received in 1927 by the movie " Padenije Dinastii Romanowych " ( The Fall of the Romanov Dynasty ) on the 10th anniversary of the Russian Revolution of February. She added old, partly neglected archive material from the time of the tsars together a documentary. No longer usable material replaced them with new, hand-rolling scenes in order to provide a holistic impression can. In this film, two more compilation films: "The Great Way" (1927) and " Leo Tolstoy and the Russia of Nicholas II " (1928 )
