Esine

Esine is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 5346 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Brescia, in Lombardy. The municipality is situated approximately 43.5 kilometers north of Brescia in Valcamonica. Esine between the Oglio and Grigna.

History

Is first mentioned Esine end of the 10th century. The families Beccagutti, Codaferri and Federici dominated by 1287 to the late 14th century the church.

Traffic

By Esine the Strada Statale 42 del Tonale e della Mendola leads from Treviglio towards Bolzano. A train station is with the neighboring community cogno on the railway Brescia - Iseo - Edolo for the portion of Pisogne to Breno.
