Esomus metallicus

Flugbärblinge ( Esomus ), also called Flight barbel, is a genus of danios ( Rasborinae ). The freshwater fish come on the Indian subcontinent, Sri Lanka, the Nicobar Islands and in mainland Southeast Asia prior to the Malay Peninsula.

Features

Flugbärblinge have an elongated, laterally strongly flattened body and reach a length of 6 cm to 13 cm. Your belly line is usually more bulged than the topline. The mouth is upper constant and is flanked by two pairs of barbels, one pair of small maxillary barbels and two long -reaching, far back barbels on the lower jaw. Way of life

Flugbärblinge are floating active shoal fish which occur mainly in standing and slowly flowing waters with heavy vegetation, even on flooded rice fields. They usually stay just below the water surface, and like to jump well and feed among other insects that have fallen into the water.
