Esophageal web

As a web membranous stenosis of the esophagus are called, which may be congenital or acquired. The acquired form occurs, for example at reflux from the stomach or after irradiation. In most cases, the web then takes place in the upper portion of the esophagus and narrows the lumen of the front.

It occurs in swallowing and may occur entrapment of edible chunks. In the X- Breischluckuntersuchung the web can occasionally produce a jet phenomenon.

The treatment can be performed endoscopically in the rule.
