Esperia

Esperia is a municipality in the province of Frosinone in the Italian region Latium, located about 3867 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012). It is located 130 km southeast of Rome and 50 km southeast of Frosinone.

Geography

Esperia is located in the Aurunci. It is a member of the Comunità Montana L' Arco degli Aurunci.

Esperia consists of the districts Badia di Esperia, Monticelli, Roccaguglielma ( Esperia Superiore) and San Pietro in Curolis ( Esperia Inferiore ).

The nearby towns are Ausonia, Campodimele ( LT), Castelnuovo Parano, Formia ( LT), Itri ( LT), Pignataro Interamna, Pontecorvo, San Giorgio a Liri and Spigno Saturnia ( LT).

Esperia is located 20 km from the A1 Autostrada del Sole motorway, exit Pontecorvo, removed.

History

In 1867, the present-day districts merged to form the new municipality of Esperia.

Policy

Giuseppe Moretti (PD ) was elected in May 2006 to the mayor. His center-left list, also with 11 of 16 seats, the majority in the City Council.

Specialty

The Marzolina di Esperia is an old sheep cheese places that comes in different stages of maturity on the market.
