Espoo Cathedral

The Cathedral of Espoo (Finnish Espoon tuomiokirkko, swedish ESBA domkyrka ) is the Diocesan Church of the Diocese of Espoo of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland and the oldest surviving building in the city of Espoo.

The simple cross-shaped building in Espoon keskus district of gray granite quarry stone dates from the second half of the 1480s - years. He was originally a triptych, but he received in the 1820s with a transept its present shape. In the 1930s, the former barrel vault was rebuilt gotisierend. The bell tower dates from 1767; its tip was 1868/69 renewed.
