Esselbach is divided into ten districts:

There are the districts Esselbach ( with slip Thor, Old Guard mill, Neue Wache mill, Faun and Karlshöhe ) Kredenbach and Mark Stone ( with gravel plug mill and Heinrich mill). Faun and Karl height do exclaves in unincorporated Princely Löwensteinschem Park.

Name

Etymology

The name Esselbach derives from the eponymous creek Esselbach, which flows through the guard of Bach Hafenlohr.

History

As part of the Bishopric of Würzburg the capital Esselbach fell like stone and Mark Kredenbach as part of the County of Wertheim for the Kingdom in 1803 to the newly formed Principality of Aschaffenburg, with which they came to the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1814. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria emerged with the community of 1818 three independent municipalities.

Incorporations

In the course of the Bavarian region reform, the municipalities Esselbach, Mark Stone and Kredenbach merged on May 1, 1978 together with the new community Esselbach.
