Essertaux

Essertaux ( Picard: Chartieu ) is a northern French village with 235 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens, is part of the Communauté de communes du canton de Conty, in the canton Conty.

Geography and Economics

The community on the plateau between the rivers Noye and Selle is located approximately 19 km south of Amiens, 7.5 km east of Conty at the intersection of the roads department D1001 ( former Route nationale 1) and D920 (formerly Route nationale 320); The municipality is bounded on the west of the Autoroute A16, which has a junction here.

In Essertaux an industrial potato production of the group Touquet Savour is ( among other things, the production of potato La Ratte ).

Attractions

  • Built in the second half of the 18th century for the family de Bery, in the French Revolution almost completely broken castle of Essertaux (Château d' Essertaux ). Preserved are the central projection and the ground floor of the main wing with an attached mansard roof. The castle is listed as a monument historique since 1926 (base Mérimée PA00116145 ).
  • The church of Saint -Jacques -le- Majeur from 1769, 1969 also registered as a monument historique ( Base Mérimée PA00116146 ).
