Essex County (New Jersey)

Essex County is a county ( district ) in the state of New Jersey. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Newark.

History

Essex County was founded in 1683 as a part of the territory of East Jersey.

Geography

The county has an area of ​​336 square kilometers, of which 9 square kilometers of water are. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Passaic County, Bergen County, Hudson County, Union County and Morris County.
