The Estádio do Bessa Século. XXI ( German: Bessa stadium of the 21st century, shortly Estádio do Bessa ) is a football stadium in the Portuguese city of Porto.

History

The stadium was the venue for three group matches at the European Football Championship 2004. It summarizes 28 263 spectators and was officially opened on 30 December 2003. The stadium, built by the GRUPO3 Arquitectura Arquitectos Associados and is the property of the football club Boavista Porto. In 2006, it was one which took place in six stages of the U-21 Football Championship. In the venue, the final between the Netherlands and Ukraine ( 3-0) was held on June 4.

During the rebuilding of the game operation continued to run regularly. On 30 June 1998, work began on the East Stand, it was completed on 4 August 1999. In January 2000 began with the conversion of the West Stand. On November 9, 2001, she was inaugurated. After the North Stand was demolished in April 2002, the playing field has been moved and lowered. Subsequently, the South Stand was built.

At the opening of the Thu Bessa a game between Boavista and Málaga CF took place on 30 December 2003, which ended 0-0.
