Ester Workel

Ester Workel ( born March 18, 1975 in Haaksbergen ) is a Dutch coxswain in rowing, who won two Olympic medals in the eights.

Workel began only in 1994 with the rowing. Your first appearance at a major international championship ended with the eighth place at the 2001 World Championships in Lucerne, as she steered the Dutch roller to second place of the B-final. In 2004, she returned to the Dutch eights and steered the boat at the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004 to third place behind the boats from Romania and from the United States. At the 2005 World Championships in Gifu, the Dutch roller won bronze again, this time behind the Australians and the Romanians. After several second places won ester Workel 2007 in Amsterdam for the first time a World Cup race with the eighth. The World Rowing Championships 2007, the boat finished only seventh. After two fourth places in the World Cup in 2008 the eighth in the Olympic final in Beijing succeeded in a rather surprising second place behind the U.S. Americans and against the Romanians.
