Esther Dale

Esther Dale ( born November 10, 1885 in Beaufort, South Carolina, † July 23, 1961 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American actress and singer.

Life

Esther Dale attended the Leland and Gray Seminary, Townshend, Vermont and later studied singing in Berlin, where she also started a career as a singer. Back in the U.S., she began acting and made ​​her debut in 1934 in New York City on the side of James Stewart, Mildred Natwick and Joshua Logan in the book written by Frank McGrath play Carry Nation on Broadway. In the same year she made her debut in the crime drama crime without passion as a film actress on the screen. Overall, they played up to their career end of 1960 with more than 100 film and television productions and was occasionally seen on the theater stage.

On July 23, 1961 Dale passed away at the age of 75 from complications of surgery at the Queen of Angels Hospital in Los Angeles. Only three months earlier, died already her husband, writer Arthur J. Beckhard. Both are buried in the Oakwood Cemetery in Townshend.
