The Esther Glen Award is the most prestigious literary award for New Zealand children 's literature.
History
The price is since 1945 in honor of the first significant New Zealand children's book author Alice Esther Glen annually by the Library and Information Association of New Zealand Aotearoa ( Lianza ) (with exceptions) awarded to a New Zealand children's book author for the most excellent contribution to children 's literature ( ... for of the most distinguished contribution to New Zealand literature for junior fiction ).
It is the oldest New Zealand literary prize will be awarded today.
