Estrella Damm

Estrella Damm is a Spanish beer after Pilsner and the most important brand of the Barcelona-based brewery SA Dam.

History

A native of Alsace August Kuentzmann dam emigrated in 1872 with his wife Melanie after the end of the Franco-German War and went to Spain. In 1876 the dam founded his own brewery in Barcelona.

As a name for the brand he chose the word " Estrella " which means both in Spanish and in Catalan " star". Such also represents the logo of the brand

The beer with an alcohol content of 5.4 % is one of the most famous Spanish beer brands.

In 2009, Estrella Damm, created in collaboration with the three -star chef Ferran Adrià and his team of the restaurant " El Bulli " as well as Dan Barber, Juli Soler and the wine experts Ferran Centelles and David Seijas the Inedit beer brand. For the primary target group for this new beer that is drunk out of white wine glasses, part avowedly upscale restaurants. Inedit consists of a mix of malted barley and wheat, and is flavored with spices such as orange peel, coriander and liquorice.
