Eta Linnemann

Eta Linnemann (* October 19, 1926 in Osnabrück; † 9 May 2009 Leer, Ostfriesland) was a German Protestant theologian. In her last years she broke completely with the theology of her teacher Rudolf Bultmann.

Eta Linnemann studied from October 1948 to July 1953 Protestant theology in Marburg, Tübingen and Göttingen. In August 1953, she presented at the Georg -August- University Göttingen, the first state exam in August 1957, the Second State Examination. Introduction and interpretation with which it in July 1961 at the Church College in Berlin -Zehlendorf summa cum laude to Dr. theol -. From this work out their dissertation parables of Jesus was received his doctorate. Between 1961 and 1966 taught Linnemann at the Seminar for church ministry in Berlin- Zehlendorf, 1967, she was a visiting professor at the Pedagogical University Braunschweig. In February 1970 habilitated Eta Linnemann in Marburg Rudolf Bultmann and Ernst Fuchs with studies on the Passion story. On August 10, 1971, she was awarded an honorary professor of New Testament at the Theological Faculty of the Philipps- University of Marburg. Linnemann was a member of the international Studiorum Novi Testamenti Societas.

Caused a stir Linnemann 1978, when they, by its own account as a result of a conversion experience in November 1977, of the historical-critical method broke away and begged to destroy their previous releases. Since 1983 she was a teacher at the Theological College of the Indonesian Mission Community in Batu. In her book " What is credible - the Bible or the Bible criticism" claimed Linnemann 2007, citing an unnamed ear witnesses, that Rudolf Bultmann had revoked on his deathbed his teachings. A resilient proof of this assertion is, however, so far (as of 2009) as well as from an echo in the Bultmann research.
