Étagère

A cake stand (French étagère " frame " ) is an open, shelf -like frame for books or dishes with at least two, usually three levels for attachment to the wall, and a flexible, suspendable rack for cosmetics or laundry or a decorative, since the Baroque popular table top for fruits, chocolates and the like.

In addition, there are portable tiered stands for the transport of food in the restaurant business: Several plates can be filled space saving over each other kept and transported to their destination. Larger, partly man-sized versions for kitchens or bakeries are not worn, but can be rolled. Similar racks are also used in self-service restaurants and canteens for the recording used dishes.
