Eternal (band)

Eternal were a British Contemporary R & B group from London, which was founded in 1992.

The group consisted of the brothers and sisters Easther and Vernie Bennett, Kéllé Bryan and Louise Nurding (now Louise Redknapp ), the all time became one of the most successful British girl groups, both at home and around the world.

The group claimed 15 top 20 hits in the UK produced between 1993 and 1999; the first was Stay, which was also in the U.S. to be a top 20 hit. Worldwide sold Eternal more than 10 million recordings.

Biography (1992-2000)

Eternal was founded in 1992 by music manager Denis Ingoldsby of First Avenue Records. The group, which consisted of the sisters Easther and Vernie Bennett, Kéllé Bryan and Louise Nurding was taken in 1993 at EMI Records.

They launched in September 1993 with her ​​debut single Stay in the music scene. The single was a success on both sides of the Atlantic with number four in the UK and 19 in the United States. Their debut album, Always & Forever followed on 29 November 1993 and reached number two. At home it was sold over a million copies and made the first girl band Eternal, who overcame this limit. In June 1995, Louise left the band to begin a solo career, in the midst of controversy, that it was the only white member of the Quartet. Louise announced that she wanted to start a solo career and had signed a contract with EMI for just six months before their official separation from the group. They were very popular in Japan, where the song Who Are You? was used in a Toyota advertising and reached number one in the Japanese singles chart. The commercial was broadcast worldwide.

In March 1996, published Eternal the theme song from Walt Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame called Someday. Eternals version is not released in the U.S. on the soundtrack, there the song of All- 4 -One was recorded.

Someday was the first publication of Eternals third studio album, Before the Rain, which came out on 17 March 1997 and reached rank three in the UK album charts. It also contained the first and only number -one hit, I Wanna Be the Only One, a collaboration with BeBe Winans. The song was nominated for a BRIT Award, MOBO Award and Capital FM Award for Best Single and won the last two prices, but lost at the BRIT Awards to Never Ever by All Saints. I Wanna Be the Only One was the third most played song on British radio in 1997.
