Ethan Moreau

Ethan Byron Moreau ( born September 22, 1975 in Huntsville, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who was active during his active career, among other things for the Chicago Blackhawks, Edmonton Oilers, Columbus Blue Jackets and Los Angeles Kings in the National Hockey League.

Career

Ethan Moreau began his career as a hockey player in the Ontario Hockey League, where he played from 1991 to 1995, first three and a half years for the Niagara Falls Thunder and finally half a year for the Sudbury Wolves. During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1994 in the first round than a total of 14 players from the Chicago Blackhawks. After four years in Chicago Moreau had to leave the Blackhawks when he was discharged on 20 March 1999, together with Daniel Cleary, Chad Kilger and Christian Laflamme in exchange for Boris Mironov, Dean McAmmond and Jonas Elofsson to the Edmonton Oilers.

During the lockout in the 2004/ 05 NHL season Moreau played one season in Europe, where he stood for the EC VSV from Austria on the ice. Following the resumption of gaming operations in the National Hockey League, the attacker returned for the 2005/ 06 season back to the Oilers and reached with his team the finals for the Stanley Cup, in which he was subject, however, with his team, the Carolina Hurricanes. Due to numerous serious injuries Moreau was in the years 2006 to 2008, only 32 NHL games contest. Nevertheless, he was appointed on 2 October 2007 to the captain of the Oilers. He occupied this position until June 2010, before he was set up by the Oilers, who had occupied the last place in the past season on the waiver list. From there, he was elected on 30 June 2010, the Columbus Blue Jackets from. As a free agent Moreau signed in August 2011 a contract for one season with the Los Angeles Kings. After the 2011/12 season the Canadians ended his active career and was then at the Montreal Canadiens as a scout working.
