Ethan Phillips

Ethan Phillips ( born February 8, 1955 in Garden City, Long Iceland, New York ) is an American actor and author.

Life

Ethan Phillips is the great-nephew of Joe Phillips, a famous comedian of the 1920s. He was born in Garden City and grew up as the only boy among five sisters. At seven, he saw with his mother's horror series Panic and was very upset when he saw what was happening with the people. His mother had to explain that these people are actors, where no real hair was bent him. Ethan was to get enthusiastic about the idea for the mimes of other people money. Even in high school, he performed in plays. At Boston University, Phillips earned a degree in English, then an MA in Fine Arts ( MFA ) at Cornell University. A short time later, he already got his first roles in several Broadway and Off -Broadway productions.

Ethan Phillips is married to Patricia Cresswell since 1990. His father was the owner of the famous New York steakhouse Frankie and Johnnie's.

Career

Ethan Phillips appeared on many stages of the United States. His first featured role in a Hollywood production he had in 1981 in Ragtime of Miloš Forman. He is best known for his role as Neelix in the Star Trek television series Star Trek: Voyager. Previously, he had a supporting role as the Ferengi doctor in the episode " The ladies Troi " ( Ménage à Troi ) of the series Star Trek: The Next Generation. As an author, he wrote the play Penguin Blues and was co -author of the Star Trek Cookbook.
