Ethnic nationalism

Ethno-nationalism is a flow of nationalism, which is characterized by the desire of members of an ethnic group for absolute sovereignty over their political, social and economic affairs. Ethno-nationalism thus describes the pursuit of a self- comprehending as a nation, ethnic group according to law.

Often restricts the use of the term to stateless ethno nationalist movements. These are based on the perception of members of the ethnic group, their group interests are not represented in the current political situation.

In its broader meaning, which generally stands on the congruence of nation and state, and also includes reference to existing national states, the term is used synonymously with nationalism.
